Everything about The New World Symphony Orchestra totally explained

The New World Symphony Orchestra is America's only full-time orchestral academy dedicated to preparing gifted graduates from distinguished music conservatories for successful careers in symphony orchestras and ensembles. There are currently more than 600 New World alumni in 167 orchestras in 17 countries.
Established in 1987 under the artistic direction of conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, in large part with a grant from Carnival Cruise Lines founder Ted Arison, the intensive, three-year fellowship program offers a wide range of performance and educational opportunities in both domestic and international venues. At its home base in Miami Beach, the New World Symphony presents a full season of concerts from October to May at the Lincoln Theatre, located in the heart of the South Beach Art Deco district. Performances include full-orchestra concerts, a chamber music series under the direction of Scott Nickrenz, a percussion chamber ensemble series under the direction of Michael Linville, a new music series, small ensemble concerts, a family series, and special festivals and recitals. The program offers opportunities for fellows to design and present their own concerts, which often feature seldom-heard works for unusual instrumentation. New World Symphony fellows are also encouraged to develop their entrepreneurial and community outreach skills.
In addition to Tilson Thomas, and principal guest conductor Alasdair Neale, conductors in recent years have included Paavo Järvi, Sir Neville Marriner, Oliver Knussen, David Robertson and Mark Wigglesworth. Other recent highlights have included tours to Rome and New York's Carnegie Hall.
